To play Syndicate in multiplayer, you have to host the game on one computer,
and then join it on another. Up to four players can be connected into one game.
Note that the Multiplayer option is only available in Syndicate Plus.
Thanks goes to Enrico for preparing these instructions.
Hosting a game
- Copy attached files in your game directory.
- Open port 213 (both for TCP and UDP) in your router and/or firewall port
forwarding configuration.
- Write down your IP address (you have to tell it to players).
- Run DOSBox.
- Inside DOSBox, run "syndser.bat" from the game directory.
- Choose multiplayer game, then configure & accept everything and
start a game on one of the multiplayer zones.
- Wait for players to join.
Joining a game
- Copy attached files in your game directory.
- Run DOSBox.
- From the game directory, type "syndcli.bat" followed by the IP address
of the host, for example:
syndcli.bat 123.23.23.23
- Choose multiplayer game, then configure & accept everything and
start a game on the multiplayer zone choosen by the host.
I was also able to play the game with a friend over the internet
using this method. The speed is good enough to play, but I don't know
how it would behave with 3 or more players.
