DEVELOPERS INFO

Bullfrog Productions

First developer of the Syndicate. A company created by Peter Molyneux. Under its trademark Syndicate, American Revolt and Syndicate Wars was developed.

EA Games

EA bought Bullfrog in 1995. Since then, copyright laws for the Syndicate title are in hands of EA Games. They've made some attempts to make new Syndicate, but all went nowhere. Some concept art is the only remaining proof of these tries.

Lionhead Studios

After Peter Molyneux left EA Games, he created a new developing company. Lionhead released some great games like "Black and White" or "Fable". In a few interviews, Peter said he'd like to remake some of the Bullfrog classics. But he needs EA's permission to do this, and EA seems not to respond on his claims.

Starbreeze Studios

In February 2008, it was announced that Starbreeze (the developer behind "The Darkness") would be partnering with Electronic Arts to revive one of classic franchises for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The rumour has it that Starbreeze is making the new Syndicate. Starbreeze Studios CEO Johan Kristiansson had this to say regarding the news:

We're already deep in development on Project RedLime and the team at EA is giving us the time we need to perfect our vision. We're excited to bring a new perspective and gameplay innovation to this beloved fiction.
