PC Briefing

You shine strong, Apostle.

In Bahrain, EuroCorp prepares for an assault on our way of enlightenment. It shall come to pass that you are the toll by which they are stopped.

By the bounty of our faith, we have provided you with many targets here. And for your use is a battle- tank. Be wise, Acolyte. Always use equipment well. And make sure that you silence the voice of EuroCorp here. It must be so if we are to triumph and free the world.

The light of your being grows ever brighter.

Virgil

The people stood like corn in the high fields and listened to the Master. As the reaper's blade scythed them all, the Master fell silent. The lesson would be learned by others.

Mission

Eurocorp is preparing an assault on our way of enlightenment. You must eliminate their presence from this region. Also, for your use is a battle tank. Use it wisely.

Just above your starting position is the battle tank. Board it, and have some fun. Now pilot it to the front of the dual bridge. Get out, and proceed to the end of the bridge. Pick up the explosives dropped by the Eurocorp agents. Now go back and board the tank, and cross the bridge with it. Now proceed to belittle all the Eurocorp agents you come across, with the awesome power of the tank. It's a pity you don't get to pilot these baby's in every mission. After you have had enough of the tank, proceed to the evac point.

Debriefing

Well, that was the most fun mission so far. No income, since there was no bank in the area - pity, it would have been fun seeing the cops trying to take on that tank... Oh, and you should have researched the Automedikit.

PC Walkthrough by Ilanin

Don't get excited about the Tank. It looks cool and it does have good shields, but you can't fire your own weapons out of it and the launchers take forever to lock on. I didn't use it at all in this mission, though it can be useful to clear the bridge.

Either way, the first thing you want to do is head to the built up region between and a bit beyond the two towers in the top corner. A flying car is about to land there with a small escort - nothing you can't handle, and a civilian with some money. Kill, destroy, steal. The zealots guarding the tank should have run off an unguided attack on it by now; give them a hand if they need it or just mop up.

At this point you can either go on foot or in the tank. The PSX walkthrough does the tank version, and it's broadly similar, so I'll do on foot.

Cross the footbridge, shooting down the single guard with an LR rifle and grabbing the explosive he drops. As you get over, maneuver to get decent sniping angles on the bridge guards. The two closest to the vehicles drop explosives. Try not to get the operatives to your North around the buildings involved.

Once you start shooting them down with rifles, lots of Operatives will start moving towards you - but without any co-ordination, making this another LR Rifle shooting gallery. However, it's riskier than most. Many of these units are armed with launchers, which can really mess you up. If you miss one or two shots you'll have to activate supershields, dodge around a bit, switch to your own launchers or electron maces and finish them off before they can reload. It will be really helpful to have modified agents at this point - which shouldn't be an issue if you've been blowing up banks as instructed. You don't need them, it just gives you more room to screw up.

Anyway, once the operatives stop coming, you should have killed everyone south of the three-chimneyed factory thing. Advance slowly towards there, picking off anyone who might have been missed, then see if you can provoke the remaining units into a similar rush by picking off one or two - if not you'll have to advance into the rest of the compound, but there are no big surprises, so just kill everyone and head back to the IML.

Resolution uncertainty: Very low

New research:

New weapons: Launcher

Possible loot: 200k cr, 1 Agent

You can go two ways: either just killing everyone, or persuading the Adversaries and then using them to fight the final platoon. If you have Legs v3 mods purcheased, persuading will probably be easier. These guys are bullet sponges, and persuasion is instant. If your speed is high enough, their Launcher shots will not be able to harm you when running right at them.

With a persuaded crowd, you should have no issues with the final group of Adversaries, even if you don't use the Tank at all.

For the tank - it has incredible fire rate and range, but is very slow in locking to target. This means you want to avoid locking at all - when shooting with the tank, keep the fire button constantly down, and make target corrections slowly, to avoid re-targetting. This way it can be great help.

When you approach the Tank, a flying car will land near uper right corner of the map. Be sure to kill the financial executive before he reaches the car. He carries 200,000 credits in a suitcase. Not a large amount, but should at least cover the research cost during this mission.

Two of the Adversaries barricading the double road bridge have High Explosives. Be careful with them. If you approach with your Tank without clearing the way, those Adversaries will plant the bombs. You may want to use the narrow bridge first, and neutralize the Adversaries from a side.

If you're going the persuasion way, you will likely not be able to persuade all of these barricade Adversaries - your energy will run out with two of them still shooting. Snipe them, and pick up the High Explosives if they turn out to be the ones who carried the bombs.

When you approach the Adversary platoon with your Tank, select a place to shoot at, on the path the enemies will take to approach you. For example, shooting at the lamp behind the building with Adversaries may be a good idea. As the knockback takes the Adversaries towards the street, make corrections to the place you're targetting.

Tech ex machina

Clone Shields are not of much use on this level. You could use one, for the Adversary who you will keep within the Tank.

When you have Clone Shield active inside a tank, your weapon energy regenerates. Meaning you can have Clone Shield enabled forever, as long as you're inside the tank.

You may want to practice using the Tank before using it on the Adversaries. While practicing, keep away from buildings - demolishing nearby building will do heavy damage to the Tank.
