MULTIPLAYER SYNDICATE WARS
FOR PC AND THE PLAYSTATION
Desperation And Warfare Lie Ahead In a Dark, Corporate-Run Future

LOS ANGELES, May 16, 1996 BOOTH 10311-- The award-winning, action/strategy game Syndicate quickly established itself as a classic for its bleak, apocalyptic atmosphere of futuristic corporate warfare. Now, Electronic Arts® (Nasdaq: ERTS), a leading global interactive entertainment company, and Bullfrog announce the upcoming release of the sequel to Syndicate -- Syndicate Wars, available this Fall for both PC-CD and the PlayStation. Syndicate Wars provides the much-requested multiplayer option for both platforms, including eight-player for the PC version.

With over a dozen awards to its credit, including Special Achievement in Innovative Design from Game Players Magazine, Syndicate combined a unique blend of strategy with explosive, terrifying action. Syndicate Wars expands on the original’s success with new real-time light sourcing effects and a unique new 360-degree rotating view and zoom-in.

In keeping with Bullfrog’s belief in "living worlds", the population of Syndicate Wars interact independently of the player, yet are fully responsive to commands. The player rules a band of four cybernetically enhanced agents who use lethal force to gain control of the planet. Due to the biomechanical enhancements provided by the corporation, these cyborg agents are endowed with superhuman strength, sight, and speed. Use them to complete the various missions including assassinations, object recovery, and escorting in a bid to become world leader.

An extensive range of weaponry gives the player the capacity to destroy whole cities and watch it happen right on the computer screen. Explosions, search lights, and torches, using the new light-sourcing technology, help shed light on the dark corners of the city for a realistic view of the enemy laying in wait.

Choose and control agents from among the Syndicate or religious cult and vie for domination among up to eight players with Bullfrog’s standard network multiplayer option for the PC-CD version. The PlayStation™ version will allow two-player play.

Syndicate Wars is scheduled to ship in Fall ‘96 for both PC-CD and the PlayStation with an estimated SRP of $59.95.
