Report from the event.
The Sega Megadrive tournaments are being organized for almost 5 years now, and since 2023 we also organize a little tournament of the game Syndicate. The last Tuesday, in Santutxu, in the “Café Berria" we met 7 players to play to this wonderful console called Sega Megadrive. It's my favorite one, leaving all other consoles far behind.
We played 5 games in total: Back to the Future III, Out Run, Golden Axe, NBA Live 95 and finally, Syndicate.
We played Syndicate like last year. Each player had to try to complete the first mission in 3 minutes. Nobody managed to do it in given time. It's a game that I personally like, since I like strategy games, but I'll have to spend more time on it to see how it really works.
We also played Back to the Future III, a classic in our tournaments that can't be ommitted, among other things, for the music it has. Egoitz managed to advance further.
Out Run, another great classic from the arcades of the 80s and 90s was also present in the Basque tournament. Some played in "hard" mode and others like Egoitz in "Pro" mode. We all enjoyed our red car advancing as far as we could.
And the other two games we played were Golden Axe and NBA Live 95; two different but very entertaining games. We played these two in pairs and in the case of Golden Axe the player with the best score won. In the basketball game; after a triangular game played between Ivan, Egoitz and Joseba. The best was Egoitz after tying with Joseba and beating Ivan. Ivan, on the other hand, managed to beat Joseba.
The tournament was finally won by Egoitz, but everyone had a great time. In April 2025, if all goes well, we will meet again to play the Megadrive.
